Had ordered some assorted sushi and their butterfish entree to go and todays takeout did not disappoint. During the height of the Pandemic, we experienced longer than promised wait times for takeout even after calling in our orders which turned us off from not coming here. Tonight we were told that it would be ready in 25 mins when we called at 5:20 pm however upon arrival we waited another 15 minutes for the hot entrees. Despite the extended wait time, we enjoyed our order.

** Homey vibes and generous portions at a reasonable price for some sunset comfort food. Definitely a go to and favorite in SF! Coming to Taraval Okazu Ya has always had a nostalgic feel for me since I have been coming here since elementary school with my family whenever coming to the Sunset area. To this day, I've still been coming with my wife whenever we come to the area and it's remained one of my favorites. You can never go wrong with ordering the sea bass that comes with two pieces of fish with a heap of bean sprouts, peas, and carrots all over a sizzling plate. It also comes with a miso soup, bowl of rice, and scoop of ice cream at the end. Their green tea ice cream is the perfect way to top off the meal.

My go to spot in the Sunset area for good sushi and Japanese food at a reasonable price. We love eating at the restaurant but the to-go food is also just as good. You can phone in orders ahead of time. I love ordering the rainbow roll here and my gf always gets the Caterpillar roll. We usually order 3 rolls and split them and are really full. My second go-to roll is the Niners roll.

I have a theory that when A restaurant has Merch, you're in for an amazing time, I always notice it as I walk in, and there's been this trend that whenever I do see they're selling t-shirts, mugs, sweaters, you name it; that their food is incredible. Okazu helps prove that theory! With their friendly atmosphere and immaculate service, this restaurant spaces out your rolls and items so you're never overwhelmed with all the options.

I'm so glad this place survived the pandemic and is still around. Although the interior could use a little facelift, the food remained consistently good! The Chilean sea bass dinner was delicious! We also had the dragon roll and spider roll and they were so good and tasty! The tempura shrimp in the dragon roll was plump and crunchy. The avocado and eel were fresh. Truly generous portions and not camouflaged by massive sushi rice balls. The best dragon roll I have had. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was really good as well.
